Description: The turtle was painted with Brown, red and yellow colored pencils, outlined with white pencil. It represents the importance of fresh water. The bleached fishing net, wrapped around the turtle’s neck represents the danger that many species are currently experiencing, mainly due to human actions that harm marine life. The algae based on lanceolate leaves represents the danger to which not only marine animals but also marine plants are exposed.
With this drawing, I want to convey that water is an absolutely necessary natural resource for living beings, however it's finite, so it's necessary to know how to manage it correctly, not polluting and using it in a sustainable way, for future times.

Description: Man's hands carefully taking a drop of water from the river highlight the necessity of this most precious element for the development of life and survival. The strong trees, the colourful flowers, the tasty mushrooms, the green hills are an expression of life. The river has crystal clear water and for fish it is their habitat. Animals come to quench their thirst, butterflies fly over the flowers and birds fly under the rainbow. If the water disappears, this wonderful rainbow will no longer be there, because it appears when it rains with small drops of water reflecting the sunlight shining in the sky.

Description: In this picture I drew a duck happy swimming in Chadwick Lakes. Unfortunately, it is not in the perfect habitat since someone left it there and the valley is not her home. The valley is a place to admire and relax in. Without plants we can’t breathe fresh air and thanks to these places we can do so. In Malta since we don’t have too much rain we have to be careful not to waste water and also take good care of these places where rain water is being conserved. So, by doing some water saving tips we can work together because every drops counts.

Description: In the drawing you can see some fishermen, who fish happily. This is because they ask permission from the jichi before fishing, who is respected in the community. The ancients used to say that you could only catch enough fish for your family so as not to waste it. If you caught too many fish, you had to put them back into the river so that the jichi would give you enough fish the next time.
The jichi of the water is the guardian of that water space, and what he asks of the people who come to fetch water or fish is respect and care for nature, because otherwise he could not survive. There are different ways of fishing inherited from the ancestors, and there are still people who have the gift of the "master of the water", i.e. that of being able to fish in abundance, whenever they ask for it. This gift can be passed down from generation to generation or given directly to the fisherman.

Description: Today, our territory is fragile and altered due to pollution, excessive river transformations and human interventions. In the frame of the collaboration among the Water Museum of Venice, the Land Reclamation Board "Acque Risorgive" (Resurgence Waters) and the non-profit association Civiltà dell'Acqua International Centre, educational activities focusing on good practices of river requalification aimed at preserving the typical fauna and flora of local watercourses were conducted. The vital functions of aquatic ecosystems and the values of biodiversity were analysed, stimulating the creativity of young generations through the flowing forms of water and its expressions of life.
