
Following the notice of selection for an art curator under the European project “SOIL TRIBES - Glocal Ecosystems Restoring Soil - Values, Roles and Connectivity”, we are pleased to announce that the application of Stefano Cagol was unanimously selected by the WAMU-NET jury as the best received.
Stefano Cagol (Trento, 1969) is an Italian contemporary artist and curator. He is the founding curator of the Anthropocene Collection of the MUSE - Trento Science Museum, created in 2023 as a recipient of the PAC - Plan for Contemporary Art (Italian Ministry of Culture). Also, he is currently the artistic director of Castel Belasi – a contemporary art center for eco-practice and thought since 2023. In 2022, he founded the contemporary art platform We Are the Flood at MUSE.
Twice winner of the Italian Council Prize (2019 and 2023) of the Italian Ministry of Culture, as an artist Stefano participated in NOOR Riyadh 2024, the 59th, 55th and 54th editions of the Venice Biennale, Manifesta 11, the 14th Curitiba Biennale, the 3rd and 2nd OFF Cairo Biennale, the 1st Xinjiang Biennale, the 1st Singapore Biennale, and solo exhibitions include MAC in Lissone (2023), CCA Center for Contemporary Art Tel Aviv (2021), MA*GA of Gallarate (2019), Mart – Galleria Civica di Trento (2016), ZKM Karlsruhe (2012) and Mart – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto (2000).
Stefano studied at the Brera Academy in Milan and Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) with a Government of Canada postdoctoral fellowship.
