We are delighted to invite you to celebrate with us this year’s World Water Day by joining WAMU-NET’s international seminar (hybrid event) which will take place on March 21st in Ala, Trento, Italy, with the simultaneous launch of the Water Film Prize on arid lands and ancient hydro-technologies “Back to Our Future”.
On the occasion of World Water Day called by the United Nations, this year dedicated to the protection of glaciers, WAMU-NET is inaugurating a new office in Ala, at the historical Palazzo Pizzini, the historical baroque palace where Wolfang Amadeus Mozart played successfully on his travels to Italy.
The seminar opens with a musical welcome of Andrea Vettoretti, a guitarist and music composer, representative of the New Classical World genre, who dedicated his new album to the Global Network of Water Museums. During the seminar the special issue of Blue Papers dedicated to ancient hydro-technologies and curated by the UNESCO Chair of Delft will be presented and the video installation of Hannah Rowan, “Tides in the Body” (2023), will be displayed (Anthropocene Collection, copyright: MUSE).
On the following day, March 22nd, a programme of short films on protection of glaciers and ancient hydro-technologies is organised in cooperation with Linda Lilienfeld and Let’s Talk About Water, as an extension of the simultaneous events planned in Paris to celebrate the WWD. It will be hosted from 6:15 pm to 11:10 pm by Harpolab, Trento (Piazza Garzetti, 24), and in April by MUSE, the Science Museum of Trento.
